Holistic Health Coaching Psychology

Our Approach

We blend Coaching Psychology with Lifestyle Medicine.

Coaching Psychology helps you understand the “why” behind your behaviour and supports you to develop the mindset to move forward with your goals. Lifestyle Medicine addresses the lifestyle factors to support your health goals through evidence-based pillars like nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, connection and purpose.

We believe that true emotional and physical wellness takes a holistic approach.

Our approach aims to guide you to set goals that support a life of balance that aligns with both your physical and emotional wellbeing. We're also about supporting you to set and reach goals that help you to reach your highest potential.

A coaching psychologist has specific training to help people achieve their goals and move towards a greater sense of wellbeing and satisfaction in life. This can include goals around health and wellbeing, a more positive and confident mindset or striving to reach your professional potential.

Our holistic approach includes looking at key pillars of health and wellness including nutrition, stress management, sleep and physical activity. We also understand the power of a positive mindset in driving the changes you want to see in relation to your goal. It’s about looking at key areas of your life and how they interact and work together, not just focusing on a slice of who you are.

Our approach means we look at evidence-based approaches and techniques regarding individual coaching and group programs. A holistic approach also means understanding what drives and motivates individuals in relation to their goal and trusting that they have the ability and resources to make the positive changes they're after.

We work with individuals, corporate clients and sporting professionalsWe are an online practice, meaning we can support you wherever you are.

Coaching Psychology and Lifestyle Medicine.
Where Mind meets Body.

What is Lifestyle Medicine?

Lifestyle medicine is an evidence-based approach that uses lifestyle interventions and behaviour change to improve or support overall health and wellness.

A lifestyle medicine approach is also focused on the prevention and management of chronic diseases that have a lifestyle-related component. Therefore, diseases which are most strongly influenced by the lifestyle choices we make. Specifically, it looks primarily at the modifiable lifestyle factors that can prevent and manage certain chronic health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and metabolic syndrome.

It can be helpful to think about lifestyle medicine in terms of 6 core pillars. Physical activity, nutrition, avoidance of harmful substances (e.g. not smoking and low alcohol usage), stress management, sleep and positive social connections.

While lifestyle medicine is aimed at preventing and managing chronic diseases with a lifestyle component, the 6 pillars of lifestyle medicine are also a framework for gaining and sustaining optimum health overall.

Lifestyle Medicine Health Coaching

Health coaching plays a vital role in lifestyle medicine by helping turn knowledge into action. While lifestyle medicine offers the framework, health coaching helps you to apply the changes. Health coaching helps you to set meaningful goals, navigate challenges and stay on track to support you to create a pathway to improved health.

At its core, Lifestyle Medicine takes a holistic view of health. It recognises that true wellness involves the body, mind, and environment . When combined with the supportive, person-centered approach of health coaching, it can create an opportunity for long-term positive change. Whether you're managing a chronic condition or simply want to improve your overall health, Lifestyle Medicine can provide the tools and guidance to help you live a healthier life.

A Team Approach

For those living with diagnosed chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease or high blood pressure for example, a team-based approach is essential. Lifestyle Medicine works best when integrated with your existing medical care. Having your GP (General Practitioner) on board ensures that any lifestyle changes are aligned with your medical treatment plan. A collaborative team approach can address both the medical and lifestyle-related behavioural components of your condition.
